Gormanston is understood to have been built during the mid-1900s with later additions, and its design has a strong Georgian influence with an imposing main elevation.

Situation

Gormanston lies in a secluded position, away from main roads, approximately 0.5 mile to the north west of Uckfield. The town of Uckfield provides an extensive range of local shopping facilities, including a Waitrose supermarket, together with schools and a mainline station to London.

The regional centres in the area, Lewes and Haywards Heath are approximately 9 and 11 miles respectively. From Lewes, there is a mainline train service to London Bridge/Victoria in about an hour, whilst there is a similar service from Haywards Heath to London in about 47 minutes.

Directions

Travelling north up Uckfield High Street, having past The Picture House Cinema on the left, at the traffic lights, turn left into Church Street, which becomes Rocks Road (signposted Shortbridge). Proceed along this road for just under 0.3 mile, and shortly after passing the speed de-restriction signs, turn right into Snatts Road. Continue along Snatts Road for just under 0.1 mile, and the shared entrance marked Gormanston will be found on the left. Having turned into the shared drive, turn immediately left into the private entrance drive which leads to the property.
